when its cold outside...

Yes, even in Florida this time of year it is chilly and I tend to stay indoors. What better way to spend an afternoon, rather than cleaning of course, but to pull out my newly organized crafts and play a little. I am beginning to realize that my little ones (ok...no longer that little) allow me to have plenty of free time as they hide out in their rooms playing with all of the toys they just rediscovered and received. We have come a long way from the bottles, sippy cups and now even having to get them something to drink at all. Such great little men.

As I craft and craft away I come to my MelJen's Designs creations. Trying to play catch up with all of the amazing digis and here to share two cards with you today for the Thursday challenge.

Created using Cozy Winter Owl, County Star Ornament, Snow Ornament, and holly leaves freebie.

Created using Cozy Little Chickadees and my favorite ribbon from Prairie Bird Boutique.

Here is a little peak of what I will be sharing over the coming weekend.

Thank you for stopping in and wishing you a very HAPPY NEW YEAR! Maybe I will have to celebrate it with crafting projects to share...hmmm, sounds fun.

a little break will do you good...

Seems like it has been quite a long time since I have posted... or even crafted, but happy to say that I have been able to sneak a little time away. Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday with family and friends. I have to admit that I am beyond ready for the kids to get back to the school routine, although sleeping in is quite nice on chilly mornings like today.

So today, to start things off, it is a challenge day over at Whimsie Doodles. A perfect way to end the year is with sending out a few thank you notes to those who shared in our holiday celebrations.

Supplies: Cloud Leah from Whimsie Doodles, wrinkle ribbon from Prairie Bird Boutique, papers and Copic markers from Paper Garden Projects.

Hope that I see your project posted this week for this challenge and will be back tomorrow for a little MelJen's Designs.

Thank you for allowing me to share and after a week of creating I have plenty to share with you over the next few weeks!

just one...

A tasty treat from yesterday...My youngest insisted that he would save a few for his brother and daddy...twenty minutes later he had made them disappear. Unfortunately I had joined him :)

So today is the day when I get to announce the winner of the Creations by AR blog hop. The lucky winner is...Laureen! Please contact me at andreascreativepapertrail@hotmail.com for more information.

Going with a sweet theme, I created this little cupcake gift box from Creations by AR template. Just love how you can dress it up and make it your own! Also added a little pin embellishment from her amazing collection. Check them out here. Additional supplies used (above): wrinkle ribbon (Prairie Bird Boutique) and sentiment from Strawberries clear stamp set (Paper Garden Projects).

Now for a little "project holiday". I have been creating cards in sets of five for when that time comes to start sending my holiday greetings to friends and family. This week I created two very easy and colorful sets to start things off. This is all you have to do to create some great holiday cards for yourself or others...

Begin with 3 to 4 different patterned papers...dig in that scrap bin for this one. I picked one image from my digital collection (tag from Whimsie Doodles and holly from MelJens Designs) and adjusted the size to fit my design. I made sure to add ribbon, accent stamps, tags, and a little bling. Super fast, easy and like the fact that everyone will get something a little different. A great way to use those scraps. Don't forget to dress up your envelopes when you are stamping. I used a
wood grain stamp with a light ink to dress up these sets.

Remember to have fun and mix it up!

I will be back with a couple more sets at the end of the week. Maybe we are in need of a giveaway soon...check back on Sunday for that :)

Have a great day and see you back here on Thursday for a MelJen's Designs project share.

GUEST DESIGNER:

I always have fun with these templates and with so many to choose from there is always one to fit your need! With the holidays approaching I am always trying to find little gift boxes and bags to tuck treats inside.

The first template I worked with was the framed box template. This template comes with three options: rectangle, heart or star cut out in the front. Here I eliminated the inner flap and added a clear sheet for displaying the little treats I tucked away inside. Additional supplies include MelJen's Design this week's freebie image and Whimsie Doodles tag from this month's release.Perfect size for three tubes of glitter, chapstick or a handmade ornament.

I worked with this template last week and just love the size for little party favors. If you are having a holiday get together this year and looking for favors...an ornament is always a great gift from the heart!

This button wreath ornament was created by using instructions over at Martha Stewart. There are little bells attached to the ribbon, but they are currently hiding :) More holiday gift ideas to come as I am having fun creating this year. I have dedicated two days each week to making gifts and my holiday cards. Can't wait to share them with you!

Have a great hop, stay tuned for the winners and don't forget to join in the fun and leave a comment here!

Its Fourth Friday challenge time again!

Well, you know the holidays are coming and for us crafters its time to get moving. I love the tradition of sending holiday cards. So...for this month's challenge - we want to see your Holiday cards. Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa - even New Year's - any Holiday card is fair game. The only rule is that you link up a project newly created for this challenge, although feel free to combine it with other current challenges out there in blogland. Although we would love to see all the art you care to share, everyone will be entered in the prize drawing only once.

One winner will be drawn randomly to win the prize. You have until midnight (EST) on Saturday, October 30th to link up your project. Just click the little froggy face at the bottom of this post to add your project.Your prize this month is this super cute Eat Cake Graphics cling stamp.
Can't wait to see what you create!

Here are my projects to share and it is just a reminder that we are so close to all of the wonderful holidays...
With this box I began with a clear box and felt ribbon (which I found each of these items in the $1 bin at Michaels...oh so long ago). I began to wrap the felt ribbon around bottom portion of the box and applied glue to the end to keep it together...covered the top portion with paper, used the festive fall wreath stamp to create a Christmas wreath and used the sentiment from the wonder stamp set to add a tag.I have been making many new Christmas ornaments in the past few days and loved making this little tree. Supplies used (from Paper Garden Projects) for gift set: the wonder clear stamp set, festive fall clear stamp set, copic markers.

This card is using the new digital cardinal set offered in the shop as well. I love the small lines, precious bird and ease of cutting. The sentiment comes from the fox set which seemed perfect for this card.

Enjoy, have fun and make sure you head on over and take part in this week's challenge!

Until tomorrow...

full of color...

Oh what a beautiful day...only wish my garden flowers looked this good right now.One thing I am today....completely full of color. I have been parked next to one of my scrap bins today shuffling through all of the wonderful papers and cardstock. Just poppin' in to share a few of my creations today and hopefully inspire you to dig deep down in your scrap bins and create away.
After creating a little apple card using school goodies by Whimsie Doodles the other day I had a perfectly good apple that should not go to waste. Used a little cork, which was die cut, and my favorite ribbon to complete this thank you card. The best use of scraps...embellishments or tags.
This little 3" card was simple to make and allowed me to use stamps that have been tucked away for some time. I took out my stamps today and spilled them all over the kitchen counter. So fun and can't wait to share more with you over the next two weeks using them to mix it up a little.

Remember my favorite ribbon is from Prairie Bird Boutique, the little bird is from The Wonder clear stamp set over at Paper Garden Projects and everything else is from a little of this and that.

Go...create...and as always enjoy!

oh, cut it out...

Something many will find me saying to my kids on a daily basis, but today...it's all about the paper and scissors action that has been taking place at my temporary craft station...the dining room table. After a fun day playing with MelJen's Designs digis...today I bring you Whimsie Doodles! I know...Halloween is almost here, Thanksgiving is just around the corner and Christmas is following close behind...but I wanted to play with color and use a little bit of everything. If you haven't seen these yet...oh my goodness are they adorable. The mini valentines set is easy to cut, paper piece and color! I happened to find some cork, eyelets and of course couldn't resist using as much colorful wrinkle ribbon from Praire Bird Boutique to finish off each tag. Difficult to pick a favorite, but since I never...and don't even own a pair of heels that one is probably my favorite. I love making shaped cards. They are both fun and unique. Using snowman cocoa, from this month's digi release, I cropped the image down to the cocoa mug and marshmallows. This time I was able to cut a little felt snowflake, add a little lace detail and finish it off with some amazing wrinkle ribbon. This card measures approximately 5".It has been awhile since I've used an owl and couldn't resist this time around while looking through the images. She is darling (and it isn't that often that I use that word either). Used owl my heart, a little bit of cork and a few touches of color with paper and embellishments.Last, but not least, as we are well into our school schedule and with so many thank you occasions still to come these little apples were perfect. I love mini cards...you can use small scraps of paper and your image really stands out. The image used here is from school goodies - pencil (minus the pencil this time).

Before I go...one more card to share from last weeks 365 Cards Sunday challenge.

Have an amazing weekend! It is beautiful here, but going to be spending my weekend inside working on more items to stock my etsy shop. Be back Sunday for another wonderful 365 Cards challenge!
