the relaxed crafter...

Happy Friday! After an afternoon of meet the teacher, a late diet soda and an order list that was complete (yeah!) yesterday I got out of bed last night and tip toed into my craft room...put on a movie that I have watched about a dozen times and pulled up my paper cutter and scrap bin. I was in heaven until much after midnight. Pulled out stamps I haven't used in months...maybe even years...ribbons and trims that often go overlooked and embellishments that I may not have used before. To sum up my evening it was incredibly relaxing and look forward to a few more evenings like this.About a year ago I picked up these felt butterfly embellishments from Joann's thinking I would use them often...this is my first. Love this shade of pink with the white felt flower. I really could spend hours in that store...walking down each aisle no less than three times making sure I didn't miss something new or ignore an idea that may have popped in my head. I guess now that the kids will be in school full-time trips to Joann's will be like this once again.

a bowl full of cherries...

Making this a quick post today as it is time to meet our teachers! There is a bit of excitement, mixed with sadness as we prepare supplies, clothes and get ready to send them off next Monday...ok, our school is a five minute walk so I am really not too far...still. This card was made for Paper Fashion Etc. Used cherry delights and garden bingo images. Loving the cherry delights sentiments...so cute!

an apple a day...

Counting our days down until the start of school and what better way to welcome that day but crafting! Just putting together a few felt apples for the teacher. Felt has become one of my favorite materials at the moment and always finding new ways to work with it. Below I have created a few embellishments, adding the hand stitching as I assembled them. Came across a stock pile of felt die cuts from Fancy Pants and went to work. The storm clouds are rolling in for the day, the kids are off quietly playing (doesn't happen too often) and the house is screaming for a little attention. See you back tomorrow for a Glue Arts project and then on Thursday for my Paper Fashions Etc. post!

just plain nutty...

Less than a week to go here for the summer and I am feeling a little lonely already. Come Monday we begin packing lunches, walks to school and me waiting patiently (hopefully) for them to come back home and share their day with me. Although I look forward to more than an hour of a clean house...six seems like just too much. So before I spend the last few summer days with them I am just popping in to share my challenge card with you for Really Reasonable Ribbon.I used a variety of RRR trims and ribbons (diamond satin, pink leaves, lace, and ric rac) to "keep it clean". The stamped images come from Paper Smooches...which are so adorable!Thank you everyone who joined in and commented on my blog for the RRR blog hop. It is always so exciting reading each and every one! Have a wonderful day!

from the kitchen...

It's Thursday and another fabulous Paper Fashions Etc. project! Working with a little more kitchen clatter today...so let's get to it...Ideas to make these tags...Between each tag, add a vintage recipe card for extra journaling. To the jar digital image, stamp something sweet...like a few strawberries. Finally, add the kitchen clatter sentiments to each tag.

Is it Thursday already? Only a couple of weeks until our mornings go from relaxed and quiet to just plain crazy. I just can't believe my baby, who is now five, will be at the elementary school full-time. He still seems so little, but...as my hubby reminded me last night...he is more than ready. Here today to share with you my project for Paper Fashions Etc. this week...I used Oh Baby sentiment and bingo card (just the top portion) to create this framed picture. Hope your Thursday is fabulous. Tomorrow is a new release from Whimsie Doodles and will be back to share my project with you then as well. Until tomorrow...

wishing for buckets...

Oh I wish it were snowing outside, or had a bucket full of these...Thinking fall and winter at this moment. Ready to start crafting fall and winter goodies and of course the holiday music has been playing in my house the past few weeks as I am working away. Hope it is cooler where you are today. Although I would love a little rain break I am not prepared if we were to get bucket loads poured on us via a tropical system...no thanks. Here's to looking forward to the coming seasons!
