wrapped in lace and satin...

Off again today with my little men to do one of the only things we seem to know how to do these days...go to the movies. Only if the movies could open with a number like in the original Annie movie just to make things interesting. After spending a month on the west coast I feel like nothing we do for the remainder of our hot, hot summer here will compare. They have grown out of the kids crafts like finger painting and playdoh unfortunately. Don't always feel like I have adjusted to them growing up so quickly. I cherish the moments throughout the week when they ask to play with me, we sit down for a meal and talk about whatever and waking up in the morning with them wanting to cuddle no more than five minutes...but at least I still get that before they are up and running to play together. So before I depart this morning just a couple of projects to share...This card above is posted on the Really Reasonable Ribbon blog today with a short and easy tutorial on how to create this lace/ribbon background. These other tags are just for fun...This tag set features another polymer clay button I created the other day.

A lot to share today. Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend and be back this week with many new posts including the Whimsie Doodle release...can you believe it is almost August!

whisked away...

I wish I could be whisked away to a country cottage. Somewhere quiet, where the kids could run free in the fields and my hubby and I sat in matching rocking chairs on the front porch. Far from the reality of living in a very large and very busy city these days. At least it is fun to imagine...Tomorrow is my tutorial post over at Really Reasonable Ribbon and hope you can pop by to see. Have a fantastic weekend...doing a little summer cleaning before school begins. I will be taking a few days away from my Etsy shop to catch up and be back on Tuesday or Wednesday with lots of new goodies. You know I can't stop creating...

pretty blooms...

There are days when I have a craving to try something new...which happened to be my whole day yesterday. Up late trying to work with polymer clay in a way that I have not worked with before. So just to share a glimpse of a project that I had been working on, and will share more in the weeks to come for Pink Persimmon...I see the little imperfections, but realize that pulling out clay at almost midnight is probably not the best time...now with a little rest I am ready to try again.

a recipe to share...

Happy Thursday everyone! So excited to share with you today my Paper Fashions Etc. project...I remember when my mother was prepping me for moving out on my own to attend the university two hours away so many years back now. She created a cook book of family favorites and included a few blank cards so I could begin to add my own. That book is still in my cupboards and I reach for it often to find one of my favorite recipes...no bake cookies. These recipe cards take me back to that moment and love the thought of passing recipes on to friends and family. These cards would also be fabulous for place cards at a cooking or dinner party...gift tag for that special cook...or an adorable embellishment on a card. Plenty of perfect sentiments to accompany the images as well. Maybe I will get back in my crafting kitchen and mix up some of these projects to share with you next week.

Supplies used: kitchen clatter by Paper Fashions Etc., mini envelopes from Martha Stewart, ribbon and lace trim from Really Reasonable Ribbon, twine, and vintage buttons.

Off to mail some packages today...

says it all...

Missing my family this weekend, although living across country for the past six years you would think I would be used to it by now. Off to spend the day with my boys...movie, a little school shopping (wow, where did the time go) and maybe a visit to the frozen yogurt bar on a hot day like today. Sunday is becoming our hang out day and enjoying it...as it is greatly needed at this moment in time. Be back with more posts this week and fill up my Etsy shop with lots of new goodies starting tonight or tomorrow evening. See you soon!

assemble...

Wanted to share with you today one idea for using these little wool felt flower embellishments, which have been posted in my shop this week...I keep all of my scrap pieces of felt and do my best to use these pieces on my projects. You don't need a die cut for the grass or leaves. All hand cut, stitched on and love the overall look.I then moved on to cutting out felt hearts which can be found in my shop...Here are a few projects showing how to use these as well...Hope this inspires you to use felt on your next project. Hope you have a wonderful Friday and weekend.

little cutie...

So much to share with you today...This first card was created just for fun yesterday as I was having fun making these fabric flowers. Love this color and matching it with the Pink Persimmon journal stamp set swirl. The next card is my Whimsie Wednesday challenge card "Spell It Out". Hop on over when you get a chance and join in this week's challenge for your chance to win an image.I loved getting out all of my Nikki Sivils alpa stickers and bright papers for this card. Added a few little charms to the twine and little heart tag.On to this little cutie from Pink Persimmon's little cuties stamp set. This is a set I use quite often, especially in love with the star if you hadn't noticed :)Also used the ric rac circle stamp set and the flower garden set to create borders. Hope to see your creations over at Whimsie Doodles this week. Tomorrow I will be back with my Paper Fashions Etc. and Really Reasonable Ribbon projects...not to get to work...

to be a guest...

I was so thrilled when City Crafter Challenge blog invited me to be a guest designer for "It's a shore thing" challenge this week. In my attempts to bring the beach to my project I decided to attempt a felt starfish... Loved working with this theme! Created the starfish using to stars from Sizzix die cut, trimming one to fit on top of the full star and stitching together. Added the beads to the middle of the starfish for a little sparkle. Thank you for allowing me to be apart of the challenge and your day!

This is the project I created, which is currently posted on the Glue Arts blog...including step by step instructions and photos. Only another month of this and back in school...ok, I look forward to a five day a week school break for us all. Love my little men, but they have their moments...as do I. If you are home with the kids this summer I hope it is much more peaceful and full of fun activities than it has been here.

calming...

Waking up early this Sunday morning to my little men giggling and running about...which usually tells us that it is time to roll out of bed and start our day. Just sharing with you a few projects that have been in my shop but had yet to appear here. Something soft, calming and a great way to start this day.

plant kindness...

grow love...I have seen these scroll type projects in the past and have attempted to make one today. Used Pink Persimmon stamps to spell out "plant kindness grow love", hand stitched on beads, felt and buttons and wrapped it all up on this little wooden spool. Added the shabby chic flower to the top and a little razzle dazzle with beads and glitter. Created a gift bag to match using Creations by AR "bag it" template, which by the way is super easy to cut and assemble. Topped the bag with ribbon by Prairie Bird Boutique and filled it with a frayed piece of burlap.
It was great to see such a great turn out for the blog hop and so many wonderful comments from the Paper Fashions Etc. post yesterday. Don't forget you have until tomorrow evening to enter my giveaway below. Also, I will be listing many new items in my Etsy shop tomorrow evening. Will be working on tags, cards, and flower embellishments today. Will begin making shabby chic flowers as shown above as well. Hope you have a great Friday!

paper fashion day...

It is Thursday and time to share my Paper Fashions Etc. project for the week...This week I used a template from Creations by AR (mini bakery) to create a cupcake box...and what was inside? Using the cupcake image from Paper Fashions Etc's cherry delights digital stamps, I created a set of six tags. I then used a sentiment from the friendship digital stamps collection to top the box. Also used a sentiment stamp from Pink Persimmon "for you" to add to each cupcake. Just a quick reminder that you still have a couple of days left to enter my giveaway below for the hanging heart pillow if you haven't already. Thank you for stopping by and hope your day is filled with something sweet!

for the love of a hop...

Welcome to this month's hop...This month I used the white and green gross grain ribbon from the club assortment and natural jute string to grunge it up a bit. To create the ribbon piece for the base I trimmed the ribbon on each side and ends to allow fraying. I then did a basket weaving technique, stitched around the edges and added the fabric to the bottom. I then used glitter mist to apply the color. Here is the order of the hop...make sure to head on over to Misty's blog to continue.
