a day to create...

A day at home may be risky...the kids left to play together and hopefully not start a brawl, me tucked away crafting (yeah!), a house that is a little on the messy side (where does that come from?) and an empty pantry of kid friendly food. Time to bake some cookies I suppose. But before I do...the reason I sit down at the computer each day, sharing a few creative goodies. The first photo is for Glue Arts today. A little fabric spring gift bag. Found a large bag of flower petals in my closet the other day that just never seem to find a place in my projects, until today. A few layers of flowers, fabric and a fabric button to top it all off. Used Papertrey Ink stamps and ink, Martha Stewart glitter and a premade fabric bag from Stampington. To see a complete list of supplies and instructions, head on over to Glue Arts here.On to another spring inspired tutorial for Momenta today. A little peek-a-boo window envelope and matching card. A complete list of supplies, instructions and additional photos can be seen here. The next two cards are from my "just because" moment yesterday evening after an entire day out with friends...This card was created using Pink Paislee Prairie Hill papers, My Mind's eye paper, Chic Tags, Glitz stamp, Papertrey Ink stamp, Tim Holtz pin and ribbon from Frost It Pink.Oh how I love the bright colors of the second card. Spring Jubilee paper from Pink Paislee, Heidi Swapp paper, Chic Tags, Glitz stamp, Papertrey Ink button and stamp and, of course, gotta have the beautiful ribbon from Prairie Bird Boutique to complete the look. The coming of spring...gotta love it (ok, maybe minus the allergies a bit)!

sweet bundle...

Can you believe that it is almost April? Easter, spring, first family road trip (ahh!) and my youngest is turning six in a matter of weeks...all just a little too packed in to four weeks. So many special projects in the works, new releases to share and projects from an amazing new stamp company Precious Remembrance! Can't wait to share, but first a little something from Epiphany Crafts yesterday... This week is all about the easter treats. Created a card, treat pocket and container of goodies. A complete list of supplies can be found here.Tomorrow I will be sharing my Chic Tags card for the week. Working on picking out projects to post in my Etsy shop for two days only next week...stay tuned.

little lady...

The beginning of my week home with our little men and already exhausted. A day at the beach, a little too much sun is evident on my face and now a day of rest before we head out tomorrow to spend the day with friends. As the my kiddos are busy bees building their Lego battle grounds...I am sneaking a few moments to share my Gel-A-Tins card and get some much needed crafting in.

This was a fun card to create. Found a few die cut images and stickers to add to the mix...everything from Crate Paper to Simple Stories. Added my favorite cream colored Prairie Bird Boutique Ribbon, beautiful London Market Pink Paislee papers and a little fabric flower stamped with Spin Cycle Gel-A-Tins stamp set. For a complete list of supplies head on over here. Just a reminder that the Gel-A-Tins Design Team call ends this week...you still have time!

Have a wonderful day, the sun hopefully shining where you are...I will be taking cover, but can still daydream looking out our office window. Until tomorrow!

did it...

We made it to spring break...finally. This week will go by quickly, be packed with lots of running around and playing...and just hope that I can keep up with them. Last week, over at Epiphany Crafts, the square punch and bubble caps were featured and this is what I had created. A little treat pocket using Papertrey Ink seed packet die and a few layers of my favorite papers and ribbon. For a complete list of supplies, head on over to Epiphany Crafts here.

chic love...

Hey, hey...time for a little break and post today. This card created for Glue Arts using Tsukineko Ink. Me and those layers again...oh, and the doily (only half used thus far). Created this little flower from fabric and satin ribbon. Trying to find uses for those smaller pieces of ribbon just hangin' about. For a complete list of supplies and step-by-step photos, head on over to Glue Arts here. Know that there is snow falling back in Oregon today, after an early phone call from my parents. Sure my little men wish they were there enjoying it as well. My youngest often reminds me that he does not know how to make a snowball correctly and some day he will have to visit to get a proper lesson. He is too funny. Well, time to spend another evening building some new Lego creations...that load of laundry can wait one more day I suppose :)

round and round...

Tuesday, right? Spring break is coming up next week and weighing the options of heading to the pool every day or actually venturing out and about. Oh boy...I am sure my little men will help in making the most fun choice...for them, but mom is ok with it. Need to make the days off count. But before I am off each day playing in the sun...or rather, heat...sneaking in a few more days of crafting, organizing and wrapping things up. This first card is posted on the Gel-A-Tins blog today. Back to the basics of just letting the stamps make their statement. All boy and loving it today. Used Gel-A-Tins Spin Cycle, Super Star and Snip & Snails stamp sets. Also used Papertrey Ink sentiment stamp, cardstock, ink and die cut from Sizzix for the circles. Vintage button from Remember Me Emily, UCut-It Foam from Glue Arts and twine from Vintage Street Market.
Another bright and colorful project for Chic Tags! Think it is kind of obvious that I love lots of layers, especially with these tags. How can you not? The colors, sizes and shapes are just so amazing. Used Valentine Day Milk Bottle Caps, Everyday Life ATC's, Fall So Chic, Date Place Lace Border, Cheveron Tab ATC's.

So many projects to share this week...stay tuned! Also, this coming weekend is a free class over at Miss Art's Papercrafting School. So many amazing teachers and classes to check out!

P.S. Just a heads up that Gel-A-Tins has a design team call out now if you are interested.

mother...

Spend most weekday mornings on the phone with my mother. Cherish these moments when we can vent, share ideas and just talk about everything. After spending an hour on the phone this morning I wanted to post this card created over the weekend just to let her know how much she means to me. Hope your day is going well. Time to head outside for some exercise and heat, two things that are not good together but need to be done.

down with brown...

Decided to spend a little time yesterday and today getting down with browns...and a few other colors too. Used similar papers in these cards as I pulled up to my scrap bin and began to work. Stamped a few layers, die cut little and just had some scrapping fun...
In this card I used Simple Stories paper and sticker, Glitz stamp (back), Papertrey Ink stamps (label, butterfly and sentiment), My Little Shoe Box and October Afternoon papers, Pink Paislee stamp (banner: Spring Jubilee), Prairie Bird Boutique wrinkle ribbon (same on all) and some David Tutera bridal adhesive pearls (these are amazing!). Altered the bottom of the card using Papertrey Ink die and added a strip of cardstock to the inside of the card...stamped using Pink Paislee Spring Jubilee stamp.
On to the next card...
Ok...the doily (guess it is larger than I thought), vintage buttons from Remember Me Emily, hand cut flower and petals from My Little Shoebox and October Afternoon papers, Papertrey Ink stamps and die (sentiments, label). To create the flower, cut several layers of the flower using just your scissors. Each one a little smaller than the previous layer. Ink edges for contrast.
My favorite one of the bunch. You have seen me use these mini "wreaths" before from Hobby Lobby. Created the paper flower by just rough cutting a circle from paper using scissors and spiral cut until you reach the middle of the flower. The calendar scallop label behind the heart is from Simple Stories paper.
Finally, the first card I created that started this mini collection. The paper on the bottom half of the card is My Mind's Eye and Glitz. Brought all of the colors together using buttons and love the Simple Stories heart sticker with the Maya Road heart pin in it. Backed all my layers here with Glue Arts U-Cut It Foam to add more depth. Have a great day and hope this inspires you to use some of your scrap pieces today!

trio...

Either I am avoiding completing my spring cleaning upstairs today...which has only taken me two weeks) or I am missing the days when I can just sit and craft. Probably more the first one, but after a quiet evening I made a complete mess of our dining room table. Created a little birthday trio to share today, just because...Created the tag from Maya Road chipboard, Pink Paislee London Market paper and stamp, Papertrey Ink sentiment stamp, Pink Persimmon Perfumery stamp, Prairie Bird Boutique ribbon, Remember Me Emily vintage buttons, fabric, doily, burlap, mini paper bag and little sparkle dangle from Maya Road. The card was the first creation of the three. A little this and that from my paper scrap bin, Papertrey Ink cupcake die and stamp set (love!), Pink Paislee stamp from Spring Jubilee, Prairie Bird Boutique ribbon and Pink Persimmon stamp. Not to mention a little piece of the doily, of course.I wanted to also create an altered piece. This little wooden bird house was the first thing I saw in my supply closet and immediately went to work...
A mix of Pink Paislee, Graphic 45, My Mind's Eye and Glitz papers. A few different lace trims, Maya Road Chipboard, Papertrey Ink stamps and Frost It Pink ribbon. And to top it off with a vintage button. Ok...so now back to sorting through that last pile of books, clothes and board games that are missing pieces.

playing catch up...

Are you playing catch up this week too? The time change, spring is here, my little men are struggling to keep to their "routine" (if we have one) and my posts are beyond behind! So I am jumping right into it today... This first card was created for Gel-A-Tins blog today. Feeling a little springy! Used a combination of new papers from Heidi Swapp (LOVE these), Gel-A-Tins Spin Cycle, Sugar & Spice and Unbeleafable, Papertrey Ink flower die and buttons. You can also see part of the little doily I found a few weeks ago peaking out below the flower. Couldn't resist. Next, the card of the week for Chic Tags...
I have had a thing recently trying to hand cut my own embellishments instead of pulling out the die cut machine each time I create. Found a few scrap pieces of paper and cut them into flower layers and leaves. Inked the edges a bit to add additional color.
This little monster was created for Glue Arts yesterday in celebration of National Craft Month and crafts for kids. My little guys liked it and hand cut each piece. Quick, easy and fun for everyone! For a complete list of supplies and instructions head on over to Glue Arts here. Before I go, if you haven't checked out Miss Art's Papercrafting School this past weekend...another felt project I share in one of the three classes that you will enjoy.Off to clean and hope that I can sneak a little crafting in this evening and have something new to share tomorrow. Have a wonderful day!

boy territory...

Tuesday, hmmm...Spring fever here and the cleaning out the house has only reached two rooms of the many on my list. Before I get back to it, as usual...a few projects to share. This first card set is posted on the Gel-A-Tins blog today, featuring a few new stamp sets and my love to scrap pieces of paper. I have a bunch and love when I can use a little on cards like these. To see a complete list of supplies hop on over today.Next up, my little men! My layout, posted on Momenta yesterday, was more than fun. As I clean out the house, consolidate our keepsakes...these little photos popped up again. Loving these smiles...and look, they aren't even arguing :) For a complete list of supplies and additional photos head on over to Momenta here. Ok...finally, my love for Chic Tags is growing and amazed by the colors/design in each piece.
Love layering each one, snipping a little here and there and making them look like one embellishment.
A complete list of supplies can be found here. Also, if you are a scrapper you must check out the talent of the ladies on the blog. Taking notes myself! Well, be back here tomorrow to share my Pink Paislee tutorial! Also, I am opening my Etsy shop for two days only, Friday and Saturday, and will be having great prices on all of the goodies listed. Although I am not going to stay open I thought once a month sales may work so I don't push my hubby out of our office/hobby room keeping all of my projects. Stay tuned...

finders keepers...

Amazing the things you find when spring cleaning. In my house we tend to clean house frequently. With a small amount of extra storage space, no need for a bigger house...just a good cleaning. Ended up digging through my keepsake boxes the other day while my sister was visiting, looking for old year books (yeek!) and found this large doily! Wow, all this time I had it sitting in this box. So...got out the scissors and began crafting. This card was created for Epiphany Crafts today using Round 14 punch. Epiphany Crafts Epiphany Crafts Supplies: Round 14 Punch, Round 14 Bubble Punch, Vintage Settings Cabana. Additional Supplies: My Mind's Eye - paper, Pink Paislee - paper, stamp, Papertrey Ink - stamp, die cut, Giant Dwarf - felt, MLS - paper, Bazzill - cardstock, Studio Calico - tape, Prairie Bird Boutique - ribbon, doily, adhesive pearls

Do you spring clean? It is exhausting, freeing and fun (most of it anyway). Well...back to work on my room today. Found a fabric belt in my closet clean out yesterday that has never been used and can't wait to use it in my next project. This is the fun part of deep cleaning!
