jumping, screaming, creating...

That is right...I am celebrating today (Yeepie, Yeah, Yahoo), so thankful and ready to get crafty!  Today I am sharing a bit of my Pink Paislee decor project from my post today HERE.  A take on shabby chic fall using Resistables this week.  Gotta check it out all of the amazing inspiration there this week.  How each designer added color to these pieces is stunning.

Are you ready for fall?  I moved from my home in Oregon seven years ago where signs of fall meant the beginning of the rainy season, jackets and bare trees...now I live in Florida where fall means waiting for the humidity and temperature to drop just enough that you want to spend more than an hour outside in the middle of the day.  So I have come to realize that if you decorate for fall, prepare for Halloween, and light a seasonal Yankee Candle...fall is when you are ready.  We are ready!  Time to put together our first annual Halloween block party and the excitement is building...just hope we have a good turnout.

Before I get to work today...back to the celebration.  I am so thrilled to announce that I am now apart of the Lily Bee Design Team!  I fell in love with their products while on the Glue Arts and Epiphany Craft teams.  Those patterns make my little crafty heart go pitter-patter.

Enjoy your Friday and remember to click on over to the CPT blog to check out a tutorial today and enter your challenge project if you haven't already...

tricky treasures...

Another evening of creating a few more festive pieces.  Took a walk through a local store yesterday and strolled through the Halloween aisle which got me even more excited about crafting.

Bring it on fall...I'm ready!

Supplies: American Crafts, Pink Paislee, Maya Road, Papertrey Ink, Prairie Bird Boutique.

come to play...

When the day was done, the little guys tucked in bed and the hubby is playin' some tunes...it was time last night to pull out the crafts, make a mess and have some fun creating just because.  Having some fun with Halloween and American Crafts.

Funny how designs come together.  As I was pulled up to the scrap bin, new goodies from AC and a box full of this and that...found a star felt piece (Fancy Pants), coordinating papers from October Afternoon and Crate Paper, stamps from Papertrey Ink, ribbon from Prairie Bird Boutique (of course...love the Halloween/Fall bundles) and all of those AC embellishments and papers that scream trick or treat.  Realizing that having a bit of time to just create whatever was needed and think that tonight may call for a bit more...
One last, non-Halloween card...
Toodles...

candy corn...

Is it time...the candy corn, picking out costumes, preparing for our first ever Halloween bash?  Maybe yes?  The transition from summer to fall, in my craft world, does not happen quickly or easily.  Time to pull out those fall colors, stamps and die cuts.  To get me started yesterday...a big ol' bag of candy corn (which was not only used as a prop.  Now that I am on a sugar high...it is time to sit an share.
Created these treat pockets and tags using Pink Paislee stamps, Precious Remembrance stamps, Vintage Street Market crepe garland and vintage yarn, a hand cut bat from felt and fabric and  printable tags from my new digital collections found in the shop.  Of course a few vintage buttons to complete the look.
Creating a few new items today, just for the fun of creating, using American crafts, mesh from The Ribbon Girl and a bit of this and that.

Make sure to check out The Creative Paper Trade blog this week for our first set of challenges and a chance to win this...

simply believe...

Today marks the second inspirational challenge in week #1 at The Creative Paper Trade.  Designers Geri, Ginny, Cherry and Jessica all have a project to knock your socks off!  The Paper Nudge idea came from the mid-week slump that we sometimes get into.  Today is just one of those days.  Not sure where to turn first, which task to take on...maybe a little inspiration will spark your creativity?  I have added a little how-to to the blog using a mix of alpha stickers to create this...

My hubby seems to always say this to me.  Coming from someone who has more confidence than anyone I have ever known which I admire (most of the time until those days when I struggle to find mine).   There is something to be said for that though.  It is something that is in constant motion in my mind.  Spelling this out through this challenge though is a artistic reminder that I have the power to carry myself in a way that is true to me, wholeheartedly and the rest will fall into place.  So as you head on through today what is your inspirational saying?

no tricks, just treats....

Just added to the shop today...for only $1.  Includes two (2) printable PDF sheets.  Could be paired with this set as well...
You know, I have said it before and I will say it again...thank goodness for creativity!    Last night I pulled up to a box of new goodies and flipped through papers, stamps, embellishments and looked up with a big smile.  There is something about color and shape that give my heart a little flutter.  Makes me realize how being creative really does come from the heart.  Each detail, the rhythm of cutting, adhering, layering...it could be turned into a musical (which sometimes happens when I am home by myself...really I can belt it out when the song is right).  It is a time when I can clear my mind and forget about the people who have hurt me, the guilt that can sometimes be all so consuming and the need for comfort.  For it is this artistic journey with each piece that I am thankful for today.

giving thanks...

free digi day at CPT
When there are days when it seems as if the negative takes center stage...it is time to give thanks to all of the positive no matter how big or small.  Today I am so thankful for my parents who always pick up the phone and listen...my hubby who has been my best friend for 17 years...my two boys who are goofy, sweet and all mine...and a sister who is simply amazing!  I am also so incredibly thankful for being able to share a part of me through this creative outlet with so many talented, inspirational crafters :)  Thank you!

Here's to a spectacular day that, no matter if things go up or down, there is a sunny side to it all...

a creative challenge...

Howdy friends!  Are you keeping up with our introductions and giveaways this week on the Creative Paper Trade blog?  Today we are meeting Ginny and giving you a little peek into our weekly schedule beginning Sunday, September 16th!

Each week you will have three opportunities to join our challenge and enter for a chance to win the giveaways.  With each topic you will find colors, shapes, materials, techniques that you can incorporate in your own projects to share with us.  At the end of the week we will showcase some of those projects you have entered and keep the inspiration going throughout the weeks.  Thank you for all of the support thus far.  Remember, I am also in the process of creating more items for the shop this weekend...a sneak peek to come tomorrow :)

Have a great Wednesday...can't forget it is early release and I have yet to get ready (oops!).

exhale...

We have made our way through a few days now on the CPT blog and so excited to have so many of you participate.

Preparing for more introductions this week and the challenges to come...stay tune!  It has been a roller coaster of a week thus far as we make our way through school routines, our first signs of a cold (think it was that one kid in karate last week who kept coughing on everything...including my little one...ok, it was bound to happen) and finding time to create for the new blog.  Here is a glimpse at a project I am working on for an upcoming challenge...
Something colorful and full of layers to make this day a little brighter.  Just a note that the shop will be updated on Friday with a few new collections of items...which are still swimmin' around in this head of mine and need to find time to get creative...

create for you...

Only THREE more days until the new blog opens...www.thecreativepapertrade.blogspot.com!  A little something posted there today (as shown above) to get us ready!

Hope you can join us on the 9th!

A back to school project that...if I had a girl...would be perfect to remind your little one they are loved each and every day.  Some Epiphany Craft love today...
Hope you are having a great week.  A lot to get done this week...orders, projects for the new blog (yeah!), restocking the shop on Sunday (yeah!), birthday parties galore, cleaning a much neglected house (ugh) and spending time with my little men who are battling allergies at the moment and need the extra cuddles and kisses.

See you back here soon...

make it quick...

http://www.prettypinkposh.com/

A challenge to make your Wednesday a little more fun.  For this one I created the card using my alternate scrap bin which seems to have plenty blue and green for many...many projects.  Although it takes longer to create than 10 minutes, I have created a polymer clay tag holder.    A wrapped gift with layers of green and blue clay, a Tim Holtz pin baked into the middle.  Some times you need a little clay play to make your handmade gifts that much more special :)

Andrea

Also...the new blog is coming together.  Head on over to www.thecreativepapertrade.blogspot.com to get the details.

cool...

Hello, hello!  Oh what a perfect day for some cool kids, bright colors and a hello from American Crafts.   Today I get the chance to share my love of creating with American Crafts and the talented designers as part of the new design team...yeah!  What better way to celebrate than to have these two boys kick it off...
So much color, so many layers and so in love with it all.
And the introduction wouldn't be complete without a card.  There is something about that bright pink that calls to me from across the craft room and says "use me".  Thank you for stopping by and pop on over to American Crafts to see all of amazing designers all month long.
