the pumpkin patch...

Hello fellow crafters!  Exhausted after a morning of helping out in my son's first grade class for their fall festival.  I really don't know how the teachers to do every day.  Sitting down for a quick minutes to share a  Lily Bee card posted today, a handful of candy corn in front of me and a putting my feet up before pick up time rolls around.  Never did get to carving our pumpkins this year, but created this little one for my card today.
Head on over to Lily Bee to see how this was created using stamps and to see all of the amazing products and projects using stamps this week!  Ok, sugar about to kick in...better keep movin'.  Enjoy your last day of October!

Note:  I was asked about the frame I use in a bunch of my cards.  This one is actually a stamp from Lily Bee.  I stamp then use a craft knife to remove the center square.  I know that Papertrey Ink has one, but it is a bit larger than this stamped image.  American Crafts also has a polaroid frame stamp in their Dear Lizzy collection.

Ok...I am awake, are you?  The coffee is setting in, the brightly colored projects are going up and, although it is freezing out, we are looking at a great day ahead.  So much to share.  I have been wandering around the house a little too much the past few days, after a Halloween party was a success, my Etsy shop has now been closed and a list of projects sit in front of me waiting to be touched today.  I have to say, after five years to creating for the shop, it is not an easy transition.  I am so grateful to have the opportunity though to create for some amazing companies and today I am showcase American Crafts...

Aren't the colors of these papers and embellishments layered together just so ahhh....!  Just can't get enough.  Make sure to check out the blog for some great fall and Halloween goodies.  Created this treat pocket, posted here.

Today I am working with a little Lily Bee, Riddersholm and Precious Remembrance...all for tomorrow!  Oh so much to share.  Also, have you checked out Creative Paper Trade this week?  Today the Tuesday Tut is how to create these...

Make sure to check out the blog as well for this week's challenges.  Paper Sweeties is sponsoring week #4 challenges for a chance to win two stamp sets of your choice. The challenges for the next two weeks are...

a soft touch...

Are you in love with fall...oh I so am!  The only thing missing here are the falling leaves.  I do miss those.  Well, today I made my own that will last a little longer for my Therm O Web post today.  Head on over to check out the short, easy to follow tutorial!

We are in busy prep mode for our Halloween party this weekend and creating a few more items including this felt witches hat headband.  So easy to create using Therm O Web fusible fleece, interfacing, and spray adhesive.  Love how it turned out as I was in need of something dressy.

I added two glittered felt stars on springy wire, tulle, fabric flowers all on the quilted felt hat.  I also came across the black mesh packaging from little Halloween toys and added the perfect touch.

Off to clean and then finish this pinata.  Also have to make some caramel apples for the first time...we shall see.

Have a great day!

a monsters ball...

Just poppin' in to share our Halloween party plans with you.  We are far from getting things ready, but these little guys are finished.  Found a shop on Etsy that created the most adorable polymer clay monsters and decided I could save a little by creating these little creatures for prizes.  This one is one of my favorites.  His little teeth...yeek!  These are super easy to create and used materials I already had on hand.  Each of the seven are different and full of fun color and shapes.  It is time to head off to keep at it.  Creating our pinata today.  Four layers of paper and still not strong enough.  Never did this before, but we shall see.  Save a penny, have a lot of fun :)  Enjoy your day!  Make sure to check out CPT this week for our Tuesday Tut and the giveaway on the post below will close on Saturday.

Off to create.

fall love...

The beauty of fall, ahh.  This photo is from The Ribbon Girl color challenge for October and it is so inspiring.

Created this card using a bit of paper from Simple Stories, Pink Paislee, Crate Paper.  Created fall leaves from Technique Tuesday leaf stamp backed with orange cardstock and covered in glitter.  The ribbon, twine and stick pin from The Ribbon Girl shop.  A big ol' button and stamps from Papertrey Ink.  If you enter the challenge you could win this...

Amazing kits that they carry.  Make sure to check them out!  On Friday I created a favor box for Lily Bee that was fun and simple using just my Lily Bee supplies and Scor-Pal.

He was so fun.  Used cardstock to create the box before I transferred it to paper.  The eyes and nose were created from Papertrey Ink's banner dies and the mouth hand cut.  The fabric leaves from The Ribbon Girl, stitched and added to Prairie Bird Boutique ribbon using a safety pin.  Now to fill him with a special treat for my friend who needs a little pick me up this week.  One more project before I go.
There is a short tutorial on creating this little guy on the Creative Paper Trade blog.  I would like to find him a home as well so if you would like to adopt him, just leave a comment on this post and I will randomly draw a winner on Saturday, October 28th.

Have a wonderful start to your creative week!

layers of color...

Hello, hello, hello fellow crafters!  Today is a good far, although my little critters woke up on the wrong side of their beds.  We have moved on and just hope some smiling little men will greet me when it is pick up time from school today.  But while they are away...I get to play and share some fun things with you!  Starting today, and every Tuesday, Creative Paper Trade will be posting a Tuesday Tut featuring handmade embellishments.  And what better way to start things off than with some flowers!  Just click on over to the blog today to check out the tutorial on how to create this ombre flower.   Each tutorial will match our current color challenge and maybe we will see your project linked to our current challenge using this flower technique?

I also get to share my Vintage Street Market project with you today...

Created a gift box, with the added bonus of a card holder (which is where the girl cutout is attached).  Layers of paper, die cuts, fabric, ribbon, and on the very bottom...a Melissa Frances gift box and covered in more layers.

Off to the craft store...a couple of quilting projects await me.  Just keeping my fingers crossed I have patience to do it correct the first time.

oh so new...

Is it time for the Holiday projects, snow flurries and all of those projects to begin...if it were up to me, YES.  Today is a fun and exciting day as Precious Remembrance introduces a new stamp set Christmas
Began this ornament using a chipboard piece found at Stampington.  Stamped cardstock using the Calendar set (which you can enter to win on the CPT blog this weekend HERE) and Christmas set. Stamped a scallop label, added a bit of crepe paper and fabric tape to embellish the ornament.  Created a snowman by simply hand cutting two circles of Pink Paislee paper, nose from orange cardstock and and topped it off with a layer of glitter.  Stitched a small green felt scarf around and added the adhesive black pearls to finish this little guy.  Mounted him on with adhesive foam.
Also created a gift pocket.  Make sure to check out the other projects on the blog today and maybe you will get excited about starting your holiday projects early this year!

Also, there is a giveaway this weekend over on the CPT blog for five winners and five sets of these...

All you have to do is click on over HERE and enter a comment on the post.  Enjoy!

once upon a layer...

We have made it to the middle of the week...thank goodness today is a shorter school day.  Lately it feels like we have been chained to the dining room table doing homework, eat dinner and finishing the night with more homework.  They are troopers though.  This means little time for creating lately...the shop is a bit bare, the blogs go silent for a few days...but today is a fun share day featuring Lily Bee!

Today the focus is on mixing three collections to create a card. Oh how much fun I had!  Created a shaped card, using the polaroid frame as a pocket window.  Perfect fit for a gift card and this tag!  Make sure to check out the blog today to see more beautiful and colorful projects.

There is a busy week ahead so make sure to check out the CPT blog, Precious Remembrance, Lily Bee and Vintage Street Market throughout the rest of the things in store!

Have a wonderful day!  Working on a fabric and felt piece that I will share here tomorrow...

Supplies: Persnickety (Clear Stamps, Mixed Cardstock Stickers, 6 x 6 Tiny Tablet Paper, Huffy Paper, Fussy Paper), Autumn Spice (Clear Stamps, 6 x 6 Tiny Tablet Paper, Pumpkin Spice Paper, Brown Sugar Paper), Christmas Cheer (6 x 6 Tiny Tablet Paper, Clove Paper, Figgy Pudding Paper)

dear ______________...

This is how it goes...

Dear Lizzy,

P.S.  Wow!

October started off in a little place called 5th & Frolic with American Crafts and oh did I love this.  My task...create three cards using this amazing collection and this is what came about.
Gotta have a cupcake in there.  All of those polka dots and pink...ahh!  Besides the collection being the common thread among this set of cards, I also wanted to create a background for each one using a mix of products...stickers, fabric, ribbon, thread, die cuts.
Check out all of the projects using Dear Lizzy this week on the blog HERE.  Also, tomorrow is World Card Making Day and there are so many festivities to join and giveaway out there...check them out!

** Just a note as well.  When you are finishing your cards for World Card Making Day them up with our challenges at CPT!
