There are many ways to define it, use it, and on occasion shout it.
As mentioned, the word came first with this piece. Then came the quilted square. Finally followed by several attempts at the symbol to best represent the word.
After a family day out on Friday, a few brotherly struggles later, making this a bit boy themed seemed more fitting.
During the back and forth stitching and sorting through material there were a few parent to child talks about what we want for them in life. What did it boil down to? Well, we just want them to find things that they want to experience, try, tackle, refine, feel the joy of accomplishing and most of all realize that there is so much out there to choose from. Something that makes them exquisite in their own eyes.
After rounding up the materials, putting the final touches on, there was a very personal attachment and meaning to this piece. I walk away not knowing what they will want for themselves, but as long as they keep watching us tackle, create, try, refine, and experience things the more they may follow along.
This summer was spent road tripping around Oregon, the place I long to be heading back to one day. There were trips to the beach, to the mountains, to the gorge, to lakes, to gardens, and even to Seattle. After a month, it was very difficult to leave and put the 3,000 mile distance back between our family and us. Here is a little glimpse into where we explored.
